Embracing Lubbock: Our Family's Transition Through Texas Tech Football

In 2018, our family made the big move from San Antonio to Lubbock, Texas. As anyone who has relocated with kids knows, it can be a bit of a challenge. Our boys were right in the middle of football season, and we were all adjusting to a new city, new schools, and a new way of life.

But as the football season kicked off, we discovered something that made our transition smoother: Texas Tech football. Taking our kids to a game at The Jones (Jones AT&T Stadium) was an experience that made us feel like part of the Lubbock community right away. There’s something special about being in the stands, surrounded by Red Raider fans, watching the team dominate the field. It was more than just a game; it was our introduction to the vibrant, welcoming spirit of Lubbock.

Now, as the 2024 football season is upon us, I can’t help but reflect on those early days and how

important they were for us in making Lubbock our home. If you're new to the area, I highly recommend taking your family to a game. Whether you’re a die-hard football fan or just looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday, the energy at The Jones is something you won’t want to miss. Plus, with the stadium's recent upgrades, the experience is better than ever.

So, get your tickets, throw on some red and black, and come see what makes Lubbock—and Texas Tech football—so special.
